In brief,we plan on excavating the contaminated soil
down to ground water and laterally as needed. Composite samples of every 50 yards will be
analyzed and the Piles separate according to hydrocarbon content. The material that i above
1,000 ppm total petroleum hydrocarbons(TPH)will be treated, that below will be disposed of
as in a IandfiIl. After aeration of the contaminated soil,it will also be disposed of in a.landfill.
f
I . ^ While the excavation is open,we have proposed to pump up to 10,DDD gallons of wal_r from the
hole. This will help mitigate the ground water contamination that will result from mixing
contaminated sediments in the ground water during the excavation process. The nater Lvill be
? treated and released totht city sewer.
E
If you have any questions rega--ding this Remedial Action Plan, please give me a call.
Sincerely,
Raynold I Kablanow 11,Ph.D.
y Geologist/Geochemist
RIK-dmc
CC.
