At i 0:15
--:
am.drillers arrived,set-up equipment,andslacted drilling boretoie i.
-_ Borehole a l was placed 20 feet north of the excavation center, sampled at 3 fooi
Intervals, aro dell led to 12 feet where we erauntered water. The water level was
found to be 11.2 feet. Borehole&2 was placed 20 east of the excavations cenier,
borehole 03 was placed 20 feet south of the excavation center and borehole S4
was placed 20 west of the excavation center but moved 3 feet ronin cue to
stockpl led soil, t3oreholes 2,3&4 were also sampled at 3 foot Intervals but
• drilled to 10 feet to avoid breaking through the water strata. All defiling
equipment was steam cleaned between boreholes and sampling equipment between
samples. The organic odor was noticed In the upper horizons is probably not due
to petroleum, there is a slight to moderate petroleum odor at 9 and 12 feet. The
strongest odor found was at 10 feet In borehole,&2. The water taken from
borehole 0 1 had a slight hydrocarbon sheen and a moderate odor,
' Steve Sarson►from San Joaquin Local Health arrivsdat 3:45 p.m.to Inspect wel I
grouting. Boreholes were gr'ouled with a bentonite slurry utilizing the trem le
method and capped with cement,
6/1 Upon arriving at the site the monitor Ing well locations were measured out,
marked on the pavement, and their exact locat ions noted on the site map. At 9:30 -
a.m.the drillers arrived and set-up their equipment to dr 111 monitoring we]I z I
(MW-1)which was placed 29 feet west and 2 feet south of the northwest corner
of the bui!di% water was encountered at 12.2 feet and the borehole was
completed to 19 feet. The 2-Inch diameter well casing with factory perforations
- was steam-cleaned before Installing to 19 feet. The perforations wera p1&*d
from 19 to 9 feet and the filter pack consisting of-v3 Lonestar sand waa lremled
1.9 to 6.75 W(2,25 feet above perforated zone). The equipment was steam-
clemed and moved to MW-2's lcxtion.
MW-2 was placed 29.S feet east and 13 feel south of the northeast corner of the
building. A spl It spoon sample was collected at 10 feet and a geologie sample were
v collected at 12 to 14 feet, The steam-cleaned 2-Inch factory perforated well
casing was Installed to 19 feet and filter packed to 6 feet(3 feet above perforated
zone). Due to equipment fal lure MW-3 could not be Installed on 6/1. At 2:50
- p.m.Eleanor Ratllff from San Joaquin Lace;Health District arrived to Inspect the
grouting of both r!w-I and 2. The water standing In MW-I was found to be at
11.65 feet,in MW-2 it was found at 10.1 feet. The well boxes were cemented In
and lodclng caps w6'e Installed on the well casings before leaving the site.
'-' 6/2 After pick Ing up poly dams to contain the development water from MW's 1,2 3
Geological Technics and Osterberg&Stewart arrived on the site at 9:30 a.m. to
~- drill MW-3. Placed 17 feet west of the southwest corner of the cmete and 13.5
. feet north of the sidewalk edge MW-3 was del l led to 19 feet. The 2-Inch diameter
