Water samples will be collected by using either a teflon bailer ora ground water pump(bladder pump). Cleanliness--All sample equipment(split spoon sampler,brass tubes,bailer,&pumps)and auger(drl I I Ing rod,drilling bits,&auger) will be thoroughly steam cleaned before being used and between uses, Chain of Custody--A Chain of Custody(UC)form Is a legal document used to track the handling of samples. All dates,times,persons and their companies are listed from the time the sample is collected to Its ultimate disposal. A CofC farm will be failed out for all samples collected, The NC Is tracked to Insure sample integrity. SampleAnalysis--All samples will betaken to California Water Labs at the end of each sampling day, California Water Labs Is a State certified analytical labor atory located In gam, Modesto California. Soil samples will beanalyzed for total pAml hvdrocartznnfi uatnn 6X iY EPA methods 801 s(modified). For water samples,BTX and gasoline will be analyzed try X11 # EPA method 602 for the lower detection IImIis. Detection Lim Its--The detect fen limItfor diesel and gasolineare both 1 mg/kg and of) Is 10 mg/kg in soft samples. EPA method 602 has detection lfmitsof 0.5 ug/L. Data Reduction--Analytical data will be intagratedwilh the geological data gathered during field investigation. Cross sections and plan view contour maps will beprvpared to illustrate the distribul±an of sof I contamination. These cross sections and maps will be the basis for 1 Interpret Ing the extent of contem ination and for developing a remediatlon plan.
