Evidence for this is that contamination was not found in the soil boring on those sides of the excavation and that the excavation was extended close to those soil borings.. 3.2 New Underground Tank Inatallation SEMCO hos prepared UST installation plans which have been approved by San Joaquin County. The materials have been ordered and the tanks,lines,and pump island will be installed in quick sequence. Two 12,M gallon tanks will be used,one will be double wailed. 3.3 New Ground Water Monitoring Well Installation It is proposed to install one additional down gradient well to the north of Monitoring Well I. Since only about 40 or 59 feet exists between MW?and the north boundary of the property,it is proposed to install this new well on the property immediately to the north(Figure 5),address.113.5 Bessie Ave. Geological Technics is in the process of obtaining permission from the owner of this property. The owner is listed as Rubin&Cordova,0574 West Grantline Road,Tracy, California 95376. A]eller of request and work plan will be submitted to theta. The constriction of this well is described in section S.D. Its development and sampling procedures are also described in that section. A schematic diagram of the well design is given in Figure 4. 3.4 Interim Ground Water Remediation r After the new monitoring well has been installed,it is proposed that an interim ground water remediation program should be inRnated. the purpose of this work would be to ' remove the higher contaminated.w--�-�tlia appears to be moving past MWI before it migrates too far io the north. The methods/process of this work is outlined belvv. It should be noted that unless the plume is very limited in extent,this interim remediation will not solve the problem, but should mitigate its severity. 1. A jet pump/air stripping unit would be installed at MWl. 2. The first stage of water treatment will be air stripping, the second stage will be carbon adsorption. T3. The effluent water will be stored,_tested,_and_released_to-the_city_waste- water treatment system. Proper permitting procedures will be followed before this work is initiated. A continuous flow permit will be applied for.
