INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br />' In accordance with a request from Mar William Stewart,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc , (AGE) <br /> has prepared this Closure Summary Report (CSR) for the property located at 515 West Eleventh <br /> Street, Tracy, California Mr Stewart is the former owner of Bill's Bait and Beacon, wluch operated <br /> at the site until 1988 <br /> The scope of work is to summarize assessment and remediation activities at the site and provide <br />' information necessary for closure consideration Furthermore, results of ground water monitoring <br /> and sampling performed on 02 January 1997 are included in this report The location of the site and,- , <br /> its surroundings are illustrated in Figure 1 -Location Map Structures, well and boring locations are <br /> illustrated in Figure 2 - Site Plan ' <br /> The` CSR is prepared in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites <br /> 20. BACKGROUND <br /> I2 1 SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is located in a business/residential area of low topographic relief in Tracy, California, at the <br /> intersection of West Eleventh Street and Bessie Street(Figure 1) Three USTs were installed at the <br /> I site in 1962 by Gulf Oil Company The property operated as a Beacon gasoline station until 1988 <br /> Between 1988 and 1995,the property was vacant Currently, an independent gasoline service station <br /> is operating on the property, new USTs were installed in 1995 M ' <br /> 2 2 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL " ,w <br /> R <br /> I It is our understanding that three USTs were-removed from the Stewart property in 1988 one <br /> 10,000-gallon I unleaded gasoline tank, one 8,000-gallon diesel tank, and one 6,000-gallon regular leaded gasoline tank Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in soil and ground water samples <br /> collected following the UST removals, indicating that an unauthorized release of hydrocarbons had <br /> occurred A small volume of hydrocarbon-impacted soil was removed and aerated as the tank cavity <br /> rremained open Assessment of the extent of the release was subsequently ordered by the PHS-EHD <br /> , <br /> r <br />
