INTRODUCTION y <br /> In accordance with a request from Mr William Stewart,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) <br /> has prepared this report detailing environmental activities conducted at 515 West Eleventh Street, <br />' Tracy, California Mr Stewart is the former owner of Bill's Bait and Beacon, which operated at the <br /> site until 1988 The location of the site is illustrated in Figure i A plan of the site is illustrated in <br /> Figure 2 <br /> a <br />' 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> 21 SITE LOCATION <br />' The site is located in a relatively flat business/residential area of Tracy, California (Figure 1) The <br /> property is located avthe intersection of West EIeventh Street and,Bessie Street and was operated <br />� . as a Beacon gasoline station until 1988 Between 1988 and 1995 the property it was vacant between <br /> 1988 and 1995 Currently, an Arco station is operating on the property <br /> 22 UST REMOVAL <br /> rIt is our understanding that three underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed from the subject <br /> site m 1988 Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in the soil and ground water samples collected <br /> following the tank removal, indicating that an unauthorized release of hydrocarbons had occurred <br /> Impacted soul was removed and allowed to aerate for more than a year, as the tank cavity remained <br /> open Assessment of the extent of release was subsequently ordered by the San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services -Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD) <br /> x <br /> 2 3 MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION AND SAMPLING <br /> r <br /> In June 1988, 'three ground water monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-3) were installed by <br /> Geological Technics of Modesto, California On 19 August 1993, monitoring well MW-4 was <br /> installed by Geological Audit Services (GeoAudit) to a down-gradient position from MW-1 on the <br /> neighboring property north of the site(Figure 2) Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected only in soil <br /> samples from MW-1 during both investigations <br /> Between 1988 and 1993, no regularly scheduled ground water monitoring program was in place It <br /> A 0 <br />
