Heinz Property for Investigation at Cox and Cox
Site, 595 east Elavir+i> 'Street,Tracy, CA
Dear Ms. Turkette,
Wright Environmental. Serviltil , Inc. (Wright) has prepared this letter regarding proposed
boring locations for the investigation at the above referenced Site. As you know, these
reconnaissance boring (akah+polrrt) locations and the potential need for an off-site welt on
the Heinz property were mast recently discussed with Mr. John Lynch of Wright and you on.
Manch 4, 1996.
In Wright's conlon, two.bo 1ocatlons are adequate for the purpose of site o"ossment while
the mobile analytical_lwborsteey is on the Cox and Cox site for the Investigation (see Wrlght's
letter dated October 24, T-90%. Two baling locations aro shown on the attached Figure 1, along
the western boundary of the Aeft property. Given the location of the former underground
storage tanks, and hf*MW Ul tamftm and groundwater trends, we feel that these locations
should enable Wright to.CoMp*6 the 0"te delineation of contaminate plume to the east and to
locate one groundwater: m0itbring well for plurne mapping and Site cieanup/monitoring of tho
Cox & Cox site. Solt"arid widwater samples will be collected and analyzed and the
hydrogeologic and chenitc( used to ultimately position this potential off-site monitoring
well an the Heinz property.
Please note that the poeift*.of the borings may be adjusted given the proximity of subsurface
and aerial utilities. Thi work*i pAd be accomplished according to the sampling methods outlined
in Wright's workplan diK Qaa*. W 24, 1995. Please advise Wright how we may further assist
your agency in DoinirtQ eeCei-7. H.J. Heinz property for the purpose described above. Once the
boring locations have beeil.il Woved by H.J. Heinz representatives the field work will be
scheduled andyour of e.010 m*41 so lou can observe the field work.
