O Box 1046
Tracy, CA 95376
Dear Mr. Cox:
PRE-APPROVAL OF CORRECTIVE ACTION COSTS, CLAIM NO. 9444
SITE ADDRESS: 595 EAST I IT" ST, TRACY
On February 17, 2000, I wrote to you regarding your request for pre-approval of costs associated
with additional site assessment at the above-referenced site. In my letter,I told you that the
scope of work needed-to be clarified and adviseii you to obtain three competitive bids for this
work.
Subsequently, I received a letter from John Lynch, Wright Environmental Services, that clarifies
the proposed scope of work and answers my questions regarding the proposed costs. I am now
pre-approving a total cost of$19,174 as eligible for reimbursement.
Be aware that this pre-approval does not constitute a decision on reimbursement: all reasonable
and necessary corrective action costs for work directed and approved by the San Joaquin
County Public Health Services will be eligible for reimbursement per the terms of your Letter
of Commitment at costs consistent with those pre-approved in this letter.
Please remember that it is still necessary to submit the actual costs of the work as explained in
the Reimbursement Request Instructions to confirm that the costs are consistent wit this pre-
approval before you will be reimbursed. Please insure that your consultant prepares their
invoices to include the required breakdown of costs on a time and materials basis, that
invoiced tasks are consistent with the original proposal, and that reasonable explanations
are provided for any changes made in the scope of work or increases in the costs. When the
invoices are submitted, you must include all subcontractor invoices, technical reports, and
applicable correspondence from the County.
