Soil samples of well destruction materials were collected on July 24, 2009 for chemical testing.
The samples were collected in pre-cleaned brass tubes driven into the soil completely filling each
tube. Each sample was then sealed with foil and endcaps, labeled, logged onto chain-of-custody
forms and shipped to the laboratory in a chilled ice chest on crushed ice.
2.0 Chemical Analysis and Results
Two(2) soil samples were collected from the stockpiled cuttings for analysis at Kiff Analytical,
Inc., certified analytical laboratory. The soil samples were : composited by the
laboratory. Samples were tested as follows: Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Gasoline(TPHG)
and Diesel (TPHD), and Total Lead using EPA Methods 8015m, 8260B and 6010B. The
laboratory analyzed samples on a"normal' turnaround basis and the analytical report is attached.
The chemical analysis results show that TPHG was not detected at <1 milligram per kilogram
(Mg/kg), TPHD was detected at 10 Mg/kg and Lead was detected at 5.7 Mg/kg. These results
are below the current Regional Water Quality Control Board Environmental Screening Levels
(Nov. 2007, updated May 2008 interim draft version, Table A shallow soil <3 meters,
groundwater is a possible source of drinking water) for TPHG at 83Mg/kg, TPHD at 83 Mg/kg
and Lead at 200 Mg/kg. Wright will arrange for the proper spreading of the soil well destruction
materials. The concrete, steel and plastic well materials were disposed at Tracy Material
Recovery where they were recycled(see attached receipt/weight ticket).
3.0 State Well Completion Reports
State Well Completion Reports were completed for each monitoring well destruction (see
attached Reports).
