(Wright) has prepared this letter report for the destruction
of all monitoring wells for the above referenced site. This work is part of the No Further Action
Report(NFAR) process for this site. The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
(SJC/EHD)requested this letter documenting the well destructions.
1.0 Scope of Work
The technical approach to this project was.to destroy all monitoring wells at the site under
approved SJC/EHD permit SR 05777 dated July 14, 2009 (see attached well destruction permit
and Figure 1). The monitoring wells were destroyed on July 23 and 24, 2009 and a SJC/EHD
representative observed and approved each well destruction depth, the cement grout seal mix and
observed the borehole seal.
2.0 Field Methods—Well Destructions
Monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, MW3R, MW-4, MW-5, MW-6, MW-7, MW-8 and MW-91Z
were destroyed using an approved method summarized as follows: The depth to groundwater
and total depth of each well was measured prior to destruction and compared to each well boring
log and well construction detail. The depth of destruction was selected (one foot below the
completed depth shown on each log) and the well casing was completely removed. The cement
grout was mixed to the SJC/EHD permit specification and then placed in the borehole using a
tremic pipe, filling from the bottom to top of each borehole(to the existing surface grade).
Page J of 2
