As you know,an interim she cicwwP work Is planned a part of which is the <br /> destruction of Wella MW-1 and MW-9 widlin the proposed soil excavation areas. This workplan preparation it in <br /> response to a request t1'am Mr. Mike Infbrra at the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> (SJGSHM letter dated December 17,2003. <br /> Monhoring Well Destroctlon Methods <br /> Monitoring wells MW-3 and MW-9 will be abandoned by permanent destruction under approved WCBHD ,acll <br /> destruction permits using a qualified G57-licanscd well drilling contractor. The wells will be abandoned prior tc the <br /> pending soil excavation for areas in and around these two wells. The SJC/15KD Well It spaetor will be echedule.t to <br /> observe these well abandonment destructions. <br /> The two monitoring wells'teeing depths will be sounded and a final depth to groundwater measured from the to 0 of <br /> each existing caging. Both wells will be destroyed by over boring to full depth of each well plus one fbo t(18 Not <br /> below surAce grade)and grouted with non-hardening bentonite.and allowed to stand undisturbed for no Im thmi 48 <br /> hours. No cement grout is to be used for theca well destructions, <br /> UsAltarduas <br /> This proposed well destruction workplan has been Prepared specifically for the Mr. Ed s Muffler(Cox and Cox)Site <br /> at 595 E. I Ith Sheet In Tracy, and was done according to the current State and local agency suggested gulckinee <br /> documents fbr these investigations. The interpretations,conclusions and recommendations merle herein are ban on <br /> the data and analysis for the soil and Witter samples collected on-site and should be reviewed in the context of this <br /> report and other site reports.
