Attending the meeting were Janice E. The meeting
discussion centered on the data requested in the EHD letter. All but one of the items in the
letter have been addressed to the satisfaction of the EHD. The EHD stated they would discuss
the remaining item, vertical delineation of the contamination in the ground water with the
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) as well as whether the
contamination is laterally defined upgradient of the former underground storage tank location.
On September 17, 2008, the EHD met with the CVRWQCB representative, James Barton and it
was decided ,that vertical delineation of the ground water contamination is warranted. Please
submit a brief work plan to the EHD for this work.
Additionally, ground water monitoring and sampling should be conducted on all the monitoring
wells associated with this site to provide current data for evaluation of the lateral extent of the
shallow groundwater contamination. Please limit the analyses for the ground water samples to
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) by EPA Method 8015m or 82606, Total
Petroleum Hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd) by EPA Method 8015m, and benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzenej and xylenes (BTEX), the fuel oxygenates (MtBE, TBA, EtBE, TAME, DIPE), and
the lead scavengers (1,2-DCA and EDB) by EPA Method 8260B.
At the meeting it was suggested that there is an operating petroleum pipeline in Eleventh
Street.
