A1 161 <br /> Construction ♦ Engineering ♦ Remedrat2n i l,'f <br /> June 30, 2000 <br /> Project No 4090-P <br /> Cox and Cox <br /> P O Box 1046 <br /> Tracy, California 95378 <br /> Re: Additional Soil and Groundwater Site Assessment <br /> Site at 595 East 11th Street, Tracy, CA <br /> Dear Mr Cox, <br /> Wright Environmental Services, Inc (Wright) has prepared this report on behalf of Mr <br /> Elroy Cox (property owner) for the above referenced site This work is in response to a <br /> letter dated November 29, 1999 from the San Joaquin Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS EHD) for additional site assessment Previous site <br /> assessment activities have mapped the dissolved plume, the former underground tank <br /> sources have been removed and quarterly monitoring sampling with reports are ongoing at <br /> the site This additional assessment is being done to address locally elevated residual <br /> contaminants on-site, specifically in the immediate vicinities of Wells MW-3 and MW-9 <br /> Field modifications to the work were made in consultation with the PHS EHD <br />�} representative as discussed below <br /> Background <br /> Several phases of investigation have been performed at the site (see Selected References) <br /> According to EVAX (1992) and Remediation Risk Management (1993), five underground <br /> storage tanks were removed (one 8 000-gallon gasoline, one 7,500-gallon premium <br /> gasoline and two 4,000-gallon for unleaded gasoline, and one waste oil tank was <br /> reportedly removed) Thirteen soil samples were reportedly collected and chemically <br /> analyzed at FGL Environmental of Stockton, California Those samples indicated <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon leakage in the immediate tank pit vicinity In addition, EVAX also <br /> performed a soil vapor survey, the results of which were used to locate the initial three <br /> groundwater monitoring wells <br /> Wright has performed additional subsurface sampling assessment and installed six <br /> monitoring wells, and has conducted quarterly groundwater monitoring Additional <br /> subsurface study was requested in a letter dated November 29, 1999 from the San Joaquin <br /> Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHS EHD) for additional site <br /> assessment This work is being done to address locally elevated residual contaminants on- <br /> site, and a suspect additional contarmnant source, specifically in the immediate vicuuties of <br /> Wells MW-3 and MW-9 <br /> 67 E IOth Street .
