I EVAX Project B239-02 April 7, 1992
10
WELL ELEVATION SURVEY
EVAX subcontracted Schack & Company, Inc. of Tracy, California to
survey the elevation of the wellheads relative to a nearby City of
i1 Tracy bench mark. The well survey was conducted on March 27, 1992 and
wellhead elevations were measured in feet above mean sea level . The
well survey report is presented in Appendix D.
SOIL CUTTINGS AND WELL WATER
M Soil cuttings from the borings were placed in an enclosure of visqueen
sheeting at the north part of the site. Water generated by well
installation and development, sampling activities, and equipment
cleaning was placed in 55-gallon capacity steel drums. The drums were
sealed, labeled as to contents, and placed for temporary storage at the
north part of the site. There are currently 3 drums at the site with a
I total of approximately 100 gallons of water.
FINDINGS
Soil Conditions
I. The borings transected silty clay of approximately 9 feet thickness
and, followed below by, clayey to silty sand of approximately O, feet
thickeness. At a depth of approximately 15 feet below ground surface,
the borings transected coarse sand followed below by gravelly sand and
sandy gravel . Shallow groundwater level at the site is currently at a
depth of approximately 8 feet below ground surface. Soil data are
I summarized in the Logs of Borings/Wells, Appendix B.
Laboratory Analyses - Soils
Soils impacted by gasoline hydrocarbon products were found at MW-2 and
MW-3 in the 7 to 16 feet depth interval . Maximum hydrocarbon
concentrations were found in Sample B3-15.5 at MW-3: 616 ppm TPHg, 18.0
ppm benzene, 4.0 ppm toluene, 7.7 ppm ethylbenzene, and 27.0 ppm total
xylenes. Hydrocarbon impacted soils at MW-1 were localized at
approximately groundwater level in the 8 to 9 feet depth interval .
Laboratory analyses results of Sample BI-W were: 30.5 ppm TPHg, <0.005
ppm benzene, <0.005 ppm toluene, <0.005 ppm ethylbenzene, and 0.9 ppm
i total xylenes. Laboratory analyses results are summarized in the
attached Table 2.
I
1
-6-
