M1.0 Executive Summary <br /> Wright Environmental Services, Inc (Wright) performed a soil excavation and disposal <br /> for the site at 595 East 11th Street in Tracy, California The San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department (SJC EHD) reviewed the corrective action plan and <br /> area of proposed excavation in the Wright report and work plan dated October 10, 2003 <br /> and in field discussions with Wright personnel. SJC EHD representatives observed <br /> portions of the excavation work, dewatering point placement and all soil and water <br /> sampling Two monitoring wells (MW-3 and MW-9) were abandoned under SJC EHD <br /> permits during the excavation since the wells were located within that area. The purpose <br /> of the work was to remove suspected residual soil petroleum contaminants in the vadose <br /> zone, capillary fringe and upper aquifer strata in the area of the historically observed <br /> groundwater plume <br /> The excavation was dewatered during the work and approximately 900 cubic yards of <br /> soil was shipped to the Forward Landfill in Manteca and about 239,250 gallons of water <br /> was treated on-site using carbon for disposal to the City of Tracy sanitary sewer outfall <br /> under the appropriate approved pernut Wright estimates that about 787 gallons of TPHG <br /> and 41 gallons Benzene were removed contained in soil and 2 3 gallons TPHG and 0.21 <br /> gallons Benzene were removed dissolved in the groundwater <br /> Some of the residual contaminant soil source cannot be removed due to the large <br /> irrigation and City sewer lines in the plume area vicinity <br /> Wright recommends the following <br /> Groundwater monitoring is scheduled to continue at quarterly intervals for the <br /> site <br /> • Monitoring wells MW-3 andMW-9 will be re-installed at the locations discussed <br /> with the SJC EHD representative <br /> • Wright will contact the SJC EHD regarding the need for additional work <br /> following their review of flus report <br /> Page 3 of 13 <br />
