Monitoring Well Abandonment Destruction Workplan,Wells MW-3 and MW-9 <br /> Cox&Cox Site at 595 East 11th Street,Tracy,CA <br /> Dear Ms Brown, <br /> Wright Environmental Services, Inc (Wnght) has prepared this Monitoring Well Abandonment Destruction <br /> Workplan for the above referenced site As you know, an interim site cleanup work is planned a part of which is the <br /> destruction of Wells MW-3 and MW-9 within the proposed soil excavation areas This workplan preparation is in <br /> response to a request from Mr Mike Infurna at the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> (SJC/EHD)letter dated December 17,2003 <br /> Monitoring Well Destruction Methods <br /> Monitoring wells MW-3 and MW-9 will be abandoned by permanent destruction under approved SJC/EHD well <br /> destruction permits using a qualified C-57-licensed well drilling contractor The wells will be abandoned pnor to the <br /> pending soil excavation for areas in and around these two wells The SJC/EHD well inspector will be scheduled to <br /> observe these well abandonment destructions <br /> The two monitoring wells' casing depths will be sounded and a final depth to groundwater measured from the top of <br /> each existing casing Both wells will be destroyed by over boring to full depth of each well plus one foot (18 feet <br /> below surface grade)and grouted with non-hardening bentonite,and allowed to stand undisturbed for no less than 48 <br /> hours No cement grout is to be used for these well destructions <br /> Limitations <br /> This proposed well destruction workplan has been prepared specifically for the Mr Ed's Muffler(Cox and Cox)Site <br /> at 595 E 1 Ith Street in Tracy, and was done according to the current State and local agency suggested guidance <br /> documents for these investigations The interpretations,conclusions and recommendations made herein are based on <br /> the data and analysis for the soil and water samples collected on-site and should be reviewed in the context of this <br /> report and other site reports Please note that reports of contamination must be submitted to the agencies in a timely <br /> manner Wnght Environmental Services, Inc is not responsible for errors in laboratory analysis and reporting, or <br /> for information not available during the course of the study, and no warranty or guarantee is expressed or implied <br /> therein <br /> 67 E 10th Street • Tracy,CA 95376 <br /> 209 833 0758 • Fax 209 832 5152 <br /> wright@inreach com Lie #651501 A-B HazMat page 1 <br /> websit hup//home inreach com/wright <br />
