rhe 3f • GROUND ZERO ANALYSIS, INC. 1714 Main Street Escalon,California 95320-1927 Telephone (209)838-9888 Facsimile (209)838-9883 July 31,2003 Ms Vicki McCartney San Joaquin County Enviromnental Health Department 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor Stockton, CA 95202 Subject Second Quarter 2003 Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling Report Souza 11, LLC, 612 West 11"' Street, Tracy, California Site Code 0001283 Dear Ms McCartney This Ietter report presents the results of the second quarter 2003 groundwater monitoring and sampling activities at the subject site (Figure 1) Activities included monitoring depth to water in wells MW 1 through MW3, purging and sampling wells MW 1 through MW3, and analyzing the samples for gasoline constituents including oxygenated additives FIELD WORK Groundwater Monitoring An experienced Ground Zero technician measured the depth to groundwater in each site well on June 24, 2003 The depth to groundwater ranged from 11 57 to 12 08 feet below the tops of the well casings (btoc) The potentiometric surface fell an average of 0 75 feet between March 5, 2003 and June 24, 2003 Groundwater flowed to the north at a calculated gradient of 0 0049 feet per foot, or approximately 26 feet per mile A potentiometric surface map for June 24, 2003 is presented on Figure 2 Groundwater monitoring data are summarized in Table 1 Field notes are included in Attachment A Groundwater Sampling An experienced Ground Zero technician purged and sampled the site wells on June 24, 2003 The wells were purged of at least three well casing volumes of water using a centrifugal pump prior to sampling The field technician measured the physical parameters of temperature, pH, and electrical conductivity during the purging process Purged groundwater was contained in appropriately labeled DOT-approved 55-gallon drums, which are stored onsite pending disposal G 1GROUNDZE\SouzalReportsl2QMR_2003 doe
