r1
Mr Sam Savig
Page b of 6
• 5.0 CONCLUSIONS
Only very low levels of residual petroleum hydrocarbons remain in soil beneath the former USTs
Low levels of gasoline constituents are present in groundwater in the vicinity of the former USTs
Although a "zero line" of contamination was not determined, no drinking water MCLs were exceeded in
any site well, which suggests that groundwater has not been significantly impacted beneath the site
Based upon the general poor quality of the shallow groundwater beneath the site, the absence of any
active drinking water wells within 1,000 feet of the site, and the land use downgradient of the subject site
(pavement of Eleventh Street and commercial/retail use), the low levels of dissolved hydrocarbons beneath
the site pose very little risk of impacting usable groundwater beneath the site
6.0 RECOMMENDATIONS
Ground Zero recommends conducting an additional round of groundwater sampling at the site to confirm
contaminant concentrations and groundwater flow and gradient beneath the site If constituents of
concern are below drinking water standards in samples collected during confirmation sampling, Ground
Zero expects to pursue closure of the site as a low-risk contamination site based on the following
Very little residual contamination in soil,
• . No constituents of concern in groundwater exceeding drinking water standards,
No detectable MTBE or other oxygenated gasoline additives or lead scavengers in the groundwater,
General poor water quality of shallow groundwater in the area,
Low groundwater velocities and commercial use of downgradient area,
No known active drinking water wells within 1,000 feet of the site,
Very small likelihood of impacting usable drinking water
Please feel free to contact the undersigned at (209) 838-9888 if you have any questions regarding this
submittal
Respectfully,
Ground Zero Analysis, Inc
f r BRED G
S can Garvey,
Staff Geologist
 JQF'IV P
LANE e
No 6795
John P Lane,
CA Registered Geologist No 6795 OF CAL\
Attachments
G IDataIGROtJNDZEITHORPEISouza\Reports\WELLRPT doc
