Suite A
Sacramento Ca. 95827-3098
Dear Ms. Thayer,
Subj : Background Soil Sample Results, 701 West 11th Street, Tracy,
California.
Attached please find the analytical results for the
background soil samples taken from the subject site.
These analyses were done in response to your letter of
April 30, 1992 . Your letter expressed concern that the previous
soil analysis at this site had shown heavy metal values for total
metals in excess of the Title 22 criteria for soluble metals. The
specific metals of concern included Barium, Chromium, Lead and
Nickel.
In accordance with your request, three background
samples were collected from the site. (fig. 1) The samples were
taken to a State Certified laboratory where they were first checked
for soil pH. The range of pH values fell between 7 .9 and 8 . 3 .
Accordingly, the soils were then extracted with deionized water and
analyzed for the metals of concern.
As you can see form the data, none of the metals
approached the Title 22 criteria for solubility. From this data we
conclude that the metals present in these soils do not pose a
threat to water quality.
We appreciate your assistance with this project and will
look forward to your recommendation for "Closure" at this site.
® CHICAGO, IL BAKERSFIELD, CA INDIANAPOLIS, IN LAGUNA HILLS, CA
