Quarterly sampling
revealed that none of the wells contained detectable levels of hydrocarbons. It
was explained that MW-6 was installed to replace MW-5, which has not yet been
destroyed, and sampling of MW-6 would, therefore, be redundant. It was also
explained in the report that because a large volume of soil has been excavated
and the monitoring wells show little to no contamination, the soil vapor
extraction system does not appear necessary at this time.
Please be reminded that from my letter, dated 17 September 1991, at least two
more quarterly reports are required by 15 January 1992 and 15 April 1992 and that
once the reports have been submitted, the closure status will be considered at
that time. If you have any questions, please call me at (916) 361-5726.
ELIZAYER .
Associ2 Engineer
cc: Ms. Laurie Cotulla, San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Stockton
