_r
California Standards for Drinking water of 1 ppb Benzene. The May
23, 1990, sampling of the wells found the ground water to be below
the detection limits, see Table 2.
CONCLUSIONS
1. Benzene is below detection limits for all wells (MW1, MW2
and Mid 3) .
2. Over excavation of the tank field and waste oil tank area
removed the contaminated soil.
3. The limited ground water contamination found beneath the
tank field and at monitor well Mw1 was remediated by
evaporation and/or dilution.
RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Based upon the above conclusions this site should be
considered as "closed" for Desert Petroleum Inc.
2. Once site closure is granted, the existing onsite monitor
wells should be destroyed, to prevent any risk to the ground
water from ongoing retail of gasoline at the present service
station facility on Site.
LIMITATIONS
The discussion and conclusions presented in this report are based
on the following:
1. The observations and data collected by field personnel.
2. The results of laboratory analyses performed by a state
certified lab.
3. Our understanding of the regulations of the State of
California and San Joaquin County Health Department and/or City of
Tracy, California.
Changes in ground water conditions can occur due to variation& in
rainfall, temperature, local and regional water usage and local
construction practices. In addition, variations in the soil and
ground water conditions could exist beyond the points explored in
this investigation.
page5
