AREA MAP SHOWING WELL LOCATIONS:
The enclosed map was constructed from several Assessor parcel maps; the
approximate scale and a 2,000 foot radius circle is shown. An exhaustive search of
the area was made to locate the wells on the DWR list and others not in their system.
A total of 27 wells were identified during this work; we did not attempt to determine
their status. Of the 17 wells on the DWR list, we were able to locate 7 during the
field survey. The remaining 10 were either beyond the zone of influence or could not
be located. Some of the additional 10 wells we spotted may have been on the DWR
list, but the descriptions given were inadequate for locating them.
MASS BALANCE CALCULATIONS:
In order to estimate the volumes removed vs. volumes remaining, the following proce-
dure was followed:
1. The amounts of TPHg, THPd, & Benzene contained in the soil removed from the
two excavated were calculated using data from the results of the laboratory analyses.
2. The amounts remaining in the soil.were calculated using laboratory data from the
three monitoring wells and 8 soil probes; existing maps, and assumed thicknesses.
The parameter used for these calculations are:
Soil density - 87 lb./f?
TPHg - 45 ib/ft3
TPHd - 55 Ib./ft9
Benzene - 56 lb.lft3
Based upon the above data and parameters, the results of the work can be
summarized as follows:
TOTAL AMOUNT TOTAL AMOUNT
EXCAVATED REMAINING
TPHg: 268.4 lbs. 5.22 lbs.
TPHd: 115.5lbs.(minimum) 8,82 lbs.
Benzene: 2.90 lbs. 0.06 lbs.
PERCENTAGE REDUCTIONS OF COMPOUNDS:
TPHg - 98.1%
TPHd 92.4%
Benzene - 98,.0%
2
