Tracy,CA <br /> In response to your request for an explanation of how: the mass balance calculations <br /> previously sent to you were performed, I asked Dan: Dottai, P.E. &R.G., to furnish <br /> those details. He had .'made the calculations that were included with our letter of <br /> February 15 of this year. I have enclosed his response to our request for your <br /> information and files. His letter failed to report that the majority of the remaining 44% <br /> of the volume of soil not removed is immobilized beneath the existing building, and <br /> cannot be removed without destroying that structure. The three groundwater <br /> monitoring wells have never measured any contaminants since their placement. This <br /> supports our assessment that any contamination remaining beneath4th'e"building does <br /> not, and will not, pose a threat to potable aquifers in the area.
