t. a <br /> i <br /> k <br /> UST LUFT LETTER �h <br /> Page 2 <br /> j <br /> Before receiving a PHS/EHD corrective action directive and in order to receive <br /> the SWRCB Clean up Fund Letter of Commitment, you must make application to the <br /> State of California Water Resources Control Board's (SWRCB) "Petroleum <br /> Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund" (Fund) . Aniapplication package for the <br /> Fund has been provided. a <br /> I <br /> The Fund was created pursuant to Chapter 6.75 of the California Health and <br /> Safety Code to help eligible owners and operators of petroleum underground <br /> storage tanks to: <br /> k <br /> 1. Meet federal requirements to demonstrate financial responsibility; F <br /> 2. Obtain reimbursement for costs of the cleanup of unauthorized <br /> releases of petroleum from USTs; and `F <br /> 3. Obtain reimbursement for damages awarded to third parties who are <br /> injured by petroleum releases. ,I { <br /> The maximum amount available from the Fund is $990,000 per occurrence. <br /> Claimants are responsible for the first $10,000 of %eligible costs. <br /> Applications must be submitted to the SWRCB Clean up Fund by March 31, 1994 to <br /> undergo eligibility ranking for funding is the 1994-95 state fiscal budget <br /> year. All subsurface investigations and remedial actions must be performed <br /> under a workplan approved by PHS/EHD. <br /> The Fund does not cover the costa incurred for the :removal, repair, retrofit, <br /> or installation of USTs.
