(GTI) prepared a summary report dated February 28, 1997 which requested that this site be considered for closure by San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD). On June 19, 1997 Ms. Margaret Lagorio of SJCEHD requested a that a work plan for site closure. On July 11, 1997 GTI prepared a site closure work plan and submitted it to Ms. Margaret Lagorio of SJCEHD. On July 16, 1997,Ms. Lagorio approved the closure plan and subsequently GTI has been obtaining costs for performing this work. Copies of the Work Plan, SJCEHD correspondence, bids and an itemized budget spread sheet of costs for performing this work are enclosed for your review. Summary of Work to Date This site has been under investigation and monitoring since 1987. Work included borehole drilling and groundwater monitoring well installation, soil and groundwater sample testing, by*geologic investigation(groundwater gradient), and report preparation. Proposed Direction of Project To close this site the primary task is to abandon the monitoring wells. The work to be performed includes the following: Well Abandonment • Work plan for this work has been submitted and approved on July 16, 1997. • There are 4 groundwater monitoring wells on this property that will be abandoned under SJCEHD permit. • Prepare a report summarizing the closure work.
