The purpose of this report is to provide a summary of this work and to draw
conclusions as to the fate and transport of the residual contamination that is still present in the
soil and groundwater of this site.
On November 5, 1981, the underground fuel storage tanks were removed under City of Tracy
permit.
In September 1987, Geological Technics Inc. (GTI) drilled several boreholes in a grid pattern on
this property to evaluate the land for contamination and installed three monitoring wells around
the former tank location. This investigation showed that the both soil and groundwater had been
impacted by gasoline, but only in a little pocket around the former tank site.
In October 1992 GTI installed a fourth monitoring well in a down-gradient direction from the
former tank.
These monitoring wells have been monitored and groundwater samples collected and tested
numerous times since the investigation began in 1987. Attached are two summary data tables:
1. Table 1 provides a. summary of the groundwater level measurements and gradient
cslistiems.
2. Table 2 provides a summary of the analytical data for groundwater testing.
Monitoring of the four wells over the last several years has generated information on the
following site parameter:
1. BTEX,TPH-G,& Total Lead concentration for individual wells.
2. Groundwater level measurements for individual wells.
3. Groundwater gradient bearing and slope.
The information generated from these monitoring events has documented the following trends:
1. Gasoline compounds, BTEX and TPH-G, are present in the shallow groundwater around the
former UST location.
2. The concentrations of these compounds have significantly decreased in MW-2 since first
tested in 1987. Well MW-1,MW-3 and MW4 have constantly tested at non-detect levels for
TPH-G and BTEX.
3. MTBE has not been tested for during the monitoring events, only the TPH-G and BTEX
compounds.
