MA
BC&D Properties
Project No.01-8.1.1
March 12,1990
Page: 2
seasonal recharge is not known at this time. However, additional monitoring will help us
better understand the problem.
Laboratory analytical data was obtained from the three monitoring wells in June I989 and
January 1990. The June results showed that no petroleum hydrocarbons were present in the wells
at the time of sampling. However,in January 1990,low amounts of gasoline and aromatic
hydrocarbons were detected.
A possible interpretation of this is that there is a plume of unknown size but of apparently very
i low concentrations that may be moving back and forth as a discrete unit in a north-south
direction.
The only way of better understanding this site is to perform, more routine monitoring. The next
scheduled sampling event is mid April and quarterly monitoring thereafter. It is also proposed
to monitor ground.water gradient on a monthly basis to obtain a clearer picture of the site. It is
proposed that this monitoring continue through 1990 and that after theJanuary 199I monitoring
event is performed, that the data be reviewed and evaluated for a future course of action.
I If you have any duemions or need additional information, please contact me.
F
Sincerely,
GEOLOGICAL TE-CHNrCSINC. yP9UiIV,
/ n No.00901
-
E*res: 6-30-90
Raynold 1.
