The excavation will be approximately 11 feet deep by 25 feet wide, by <br /> 35 feet long. Contaminated soil will be transported to a landfill. The excavation will be back <br /> filled with imported fill and resurfaced for traffic the following Monday morning. <br /> During the November 7, 1995 meeting referenced in the workplan, this interim corrective action <br /> was approved with the following conditions: Ms. Nokes will be notified prior to implementation <br /> of the workplan and will post the site, the extraction of 5,000 gallons of groundwater in addition <br /> to the soil source removal is approved, imported fill will be low permeability material, MW#1 <br /> may be destroyed during the over excavation without a permit as long as the remainder casing <br /> below first groundwater is back filled with a cement or bentonite slurry under observation by <br /> PHS/EHD staff, fourth quarter monitoring may be delayed until after the excavation is <br /> completed. <br /> PHS/EHD approves this interim corrective action to proceed as a proper method of source <br /> removal of soil and groundwater contamination. <br /> Replacement wells, soil borings, or push point locations will be determined following Horizons <br /> evaluation of the soil results from the excavation. The need for additional assessment of the <br /> former waste oil tank location will also be determined following the over excavation. <br /> A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services <br />
