This QSR is in,response to the letter.dated January:1l; 1995, . <br /> from the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJPHS);= This letter requested a <br /> -fourth quarter monitoring report and an,addendum to GSI's Preliminary Environmental <br /> Investigation Report (PEIR); dated,December,7,., 1994 <br /> The site is "'operating car dealershipwith service and repair bays. 'Formerly the site <br /> had two gasoline underground storage tanks (UST) in a common cavity and one waste-oil <br /> UST. The USTs-were removed in A:0611993. Soil samples collected from the base of <br /> the UST excavations indicated petroleum hydrocarbons were-present in the soil at the <br /> .' base of each:cavity:,., Gasoline:range hydrocarbons were, present at the base of the <br /> gasoline.UST cavity up to 4,400 parts per,million.(ppm) as total petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> 'as gasoline(TPHg). Theysoil sample collected from the base of the waste oil UST cavity <br /> contained TPHg'at 31 ppm and total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd) at 270 <br /> :ppm.' A soil sample collected from beneath a dispenser contained TPHg at 21;-ppm. All <br /> soil samples analyied Jor metals had concentrations less than their respective Total <br /> Threshold Limit Concentration (TTLC) and less than ten times the Soluble,Threshold <br /> LimitConcentration (STLC) as..noted n T.itle2,2 of;the California-Code-of Regulations -^- <br /> Based on results,;of soil-sample analyses, from the UST removal., GSI performed a <br /> preliminary site assessinent to further assess hydrocarbons in the soil and to evaluate if <br /> 'hydrocarbons'hid._impacted groundwater:beneath the site: Results of that investigation <br /> )were reported "1n the PEIR and indicated gasoline range hydrocarbons had impacted <br /> groundwater'beneath and'downgradient of the former gasoline USTs..
