HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC.
Specialists in Site Assessment,Remedial Testing,Design and Operation
CORRECTIVE ACTION PLAN
at
Former Discovery Chevrolet
1615 West 11th Street
Tracy, California
1.0 INTRODUCTION
At the request of Ms. Michelle Nokes, Horizon Environmental Inc. (Horizon) has prepared
this Corrective Action Plan (CAP) for the former Discovery Chevrolet site located at 1615
West 11 th Street in Tracy, California. This CAP has been prepared in accordance with the
guidelines promulgated in the State of California Water Resources Control Board's Leaking
= 1 Underground Fuel Tanks (LUFT) Manual, the Regional Water Quality Control Board's Tri-
Regional Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of
Underground Tank Sites, and SJC. DHS/EHD guidelines. The purpose of this CAP is to
propose cost-effective cleanup alternatives for the soil and groundwater beneath the site
based upon previous work performed at the site, as requested in the San Joaquin County
Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (SJC PHS/EHD) letter of May 13,
1998. A copy of the SJC PHS/EHD letter is included in Appendix A.
This CAP includes summaries of the results of previous investigations at the site including
initial distribution of gasoline hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater, summarizes a previous
Problem Assessment Report (PAR), and presents remedial alternatives for soil and
groundwater beneath the site. The CAP will address at least two technically and
economically feasible remedial methods to protect potential beneficial uses of groundwater
and to meet the remedial objectives for gasoline hydrocarbons established in the CAP.
5011 Golden Foothill Parkway,Suite 7 • EI Dorado Hills,CA 95762 • (916)939-2170 • FAX(916)939-2172
P.O.Box 5283 • Bakersfield,CA 93388 • (805)589-8389 • FAX(805)589-1456
