(GR) has prepared this Fourth
Quarter 1997 Status Report that summarizes the results of the fourth quarter 1997
groundwater monitoring and sampling at the above referenced site. Objectives of the
quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling are to evaluate changes in groundwater
levels and changes in dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in the shallow
groundwater beneath the site.
-=r SITE BACKGROUND
The subject site is located adjacent to the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks west of the
intersection of Lincoln Boulevard and West Eleventh Street in Tracy, California (Figure 1).
The site vicinity is relatively flat, and is situated at approximately 45 feet above mean sea
level (MSL). The Lower Main Canal is located approximately 0.2 miles south of the site.
Discovery Chevrolet formerly occupied the site. At that time, two gasoline underground
storage tanks (USTs) were located in a common excavation east of.the service bays and north
of the showroom, and one waste oil UST was located southwest of the service bays and west
of the showroom (Figure 2). Currently, the site is vacant.
Previous Environmental Work
Based on information supplied by Ms. Nokes, we understand that the three USTs were
removed in April 1993. Four soil samples were collected from the base of the gasoline UST
excavation at depths of approximately 9 to 10 feet below ground surface (bgs), one soil
sample was collected from beneath the product dispenser at approximately 5.5 feet bgs, and
one soil sample was collected from the base of the waste oil UST excavation at
approximately 7.5 feet bgs. Groundwater was not encountered during UST removal.
Information supplied by SJCEHD indicates that the product piping that ran from the gasoline
8146.04-4
6747 Sierra Court , Suite J Dublin , California 94568 ( 510 ) 551 - 7555
