I
A-A
`rrr-=:. SECOND QUARTER 1996 STATUS REPORT
at:
Former Discovery Chevrolet
1615 111h Street
Tracy, California
Report No. 8146.03-2
INTRODUCTION
At the request of Ms. Michelle Nokes of Winner Ford, GeoStrategies (GSI) has prepared this
Status Report that summarizes the results of the second quarter 1996 groundwater monitoring
and sampling at the above referenced site. Objectives of the quarterly .groundwater
monitoring and sampling are to evaluate changes in groundwater levels and changes in
dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in the shallow groundwater beneath the site.
Field work conducted at the subject site during this quarter was performed by Gettler-Ryan
Inca (G-R) of Dublin, California.
The scope of work described in this report is intended to comply with the State of California
Water Resources Control Board's Leaking Underground Fuel Tanks (LUFT) Manual and
California Underground Storage Tank Regulations, 1994, the Regional Water Quality
Control Board's Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendationsfor Preliminary Investigation and
Evaluation of Underground Tank Sites, and San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Division (SJCEHD) guidelines.
SITE BACKGROUND
The subject site is located adjacent to the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks west of the
intersection of Lincoln Boulevard and West Eleventh Street in Tracy, California (Figure 1).
Topography in the vicinity is relatively flat at approximately 45 feet above mean sea level
(MSL). The Lower Main Canal is located approximately 0.2 miles south of the site.
Discovery Chevrolet formerly occupied the site. At that time, two gasoline underground
storage tanks (USTs) were located in a common excavation east of the service bays and north
of the showroom, and one waste oil UST was located southwest of the service bays and west
of the showroom (Figure 2). Currently, the site is occupied by Tracy Chevrolet. It is our
understanding that no USTs are currently utilized by Tracy Chevrolet.
8146.03-2
