I
i
i
%5 Former Discovery Chevrolet
September 26, 1995
in well MW-3. These data have been used to construct a TPHg/BenzenelTPHd
Concentration Map (Figure 4).
Disposition of Well Purge Water
Purge water generated during the third quarter 1995 sampling of groundwater monitoring
wells MW-1 through MW-3 was discharged to properly labelled drums and stored at the site
pending disposal. j
i
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS
During the third quarter 1995 depth-to-groundwater measurements dropped approximately
0.81 to 0.96 feet from water levels measured during the second quarter 1995. During the
third quarter 1995 groundwater appeared to flow toward the south-southeast under a gradient
of 0.003. This flow direction is opposite of the flow direction indicated by historical
monitoring data.
TPHg and benzene were detected upgradient (well MW-1) and downgradient (well MW-2)
of the former gasoline USTs. Petroleum hydrocarbons were not detected downgradient of
the former waste oil UST (well MW-3). O&G has not been detected in groundwater samples
'J from well MW-3 for four consecutive sampling events. From second quarter to third
quarter 1995 hydrocarbon concentrations increased in well MW-1 and decreased in well
MW-2.
I
NEXT QUARTER'S PLANNED ACTIVITIES
Activities planned for the fourth quarter 1995 at the subject site include:
• Submitting a Work Plan to the SJCEHD for the removal of hydrocarbon-impacted soil
and backfill material from the former UST pit and the installation of additional on-site
groundwater monitoring wells.
E
• Implementing the scope of work outlined in the Work PIan
• Monitoring, purging, and sampling all on-site groundwater monitoring wells.
Groundwater samples from all on-site wells will be analyzed for TPHg and BTEX. In E
addition, the groundwater sample from well MW-3 will also be analyzed for TPHg,
TPHd, BTEX, and O&G.
8146.02-3 ¢
L
