Former Discovery Chevrolet
fl December 7, 1994
evidence of hydrocarbon impact. Readings recorded with the PID are showed on
the Logs of Borings in Appendix B. Procedures utilized for recording PID readings .
are presented in Appendix A.
Depth-to-water measurements from the top of the well casing, taken after well
development and prior to well sampling, ranged from 9.97 to 10.49 feet below
the top of casing. Groundwater monitoring data is presented on Table 2. This
data was combined with survey data to create a Potentiometric Map (Figure 3).
Based on the data, shallow groundwater beneath the subject site appears to
flowing north at a gradient of 0.003:
Soil Chemical Analytical Data .
During this investigation one sample from each boring above the saturated zone
at approximately ten feet bgs were submitted for chemical analysis. The selected
soil samples from borings MW-1 , MW-2 and MW-3 were analyzed for TPHg and
the gasoline constituents benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX)
according to EPA Method 8015 and 8020, respectively, and for STLC of lead.
The soil sample from MW-3 was also analyzed for TPHd by EPA Method 8015,
_1= total oil and grease (TOG) by Method 5520, and for STLC of chromium. Analyses
was performed by Excelchem Environmental Labs of North Highlands, California
(DHS Certification No. 1760) and by Advanced Technology Laboratories of Signal
Hill, California (DHS Certification No. 1838).
Analytical results from soil the sample from MW-3 indicated concentrations of
TPHg, TPHd, BTEX, and TOG and STLC of chromium were not present above the
laboratory detection limits. The STLC for lead in the sample from. MW-3 was at 7
0.17 ppm. The soil samples from MW-1 had concentrations of TPHg and benzene
at 340 and 3.9 ppm, respectively. MW-2 had concentrations of TPHg and
benzene at 240 and 2.4 ppm, respectively. The STLC for lead was 0.35 and
0.21 ppm from MW-1 and MW-2, respectively. Soil analytical data is summarized
in Table 3 and copies of the chain of custody and laboratory reports are presented
in Appendix E.
Groundwater Analytical Data
Groundwater samples from each monitoring well were analyzed for TPHg and
BTEX according to EPA Method 8015 and 602, respectively. In addition, the
groundwater sample from MW-3 was also analyzed for TPHd by EPA Method
8015, and TOG by Method 5520. Analyses was performed by Excelchem
Report No.8146701.1 5
GeoStrategies Inc.
