i <br /> ETTLER - YAN <br /> INC. <br /> FOURTH QUARTER 1998 STATUS REPORT <br /> at <br /> Former Discovery Chevrolet <br /> 1615 11"Street <br /> Tracy, California <br /> Report No. 948146.05-8 <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Ms. Michelle Nokes, Gettler-Ryan Inc. (GR) has prepared this Fourth Quarter <br /> 1998 Status Report that summarizes the results of the fourth quarter 1998 groundwater <br /> monitoring and sampling at the above referenced site. Objectives of the quarterly groundwater <br /> monitoring and sampling are to evaluate changes in groundwater levels and changes in dissolved <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in the shallow groundwater beneath the site. <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The subject site is located adjacent to the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks west of the <br /> intersection of Lincoln Boulevard and West Eleventh Street in Tracy,California(Figure 1). The <br /> site vicinity is relatively flat, and is situated at approximately 45 feet above mean sea level <br /> (MSL). The Lower Main Canal is located approximately 0.2 miles south of the site. <br /> Discovery Chevrolet formerly occupied the site. At that time,two gasoline underground storage <br /> tanks (USTs) were located in a common excavation east of the service bays and north of the <br /> showroom, and one waste oil UST was located southwest of the service bays and west of the <br /> showroom (Figure 2). Currently, the site is vacant. <br /> Previous Environmental Work <br /> Based on information supplied by Ms.Nokes,we understand that the three USTs were removed <br /> in April 1993. Four soil samples were collected from the base of the gasoline UST excavation <br /> at depths of approximately 9 to 10 feet below ground surface (bgs), one soil sample was <br /> collected from beneath the product dispenser at approximately 5.5 feet bgs, and one soil sample <br /> was collected from the base of the waste oil UST excavation at approximately 7.5 feet bgs. <br /> Groundwater was not encountered during UST removal. Information supplied by San Joaquin <br /> County Environmental Health Division(SJCEHD)indicates that the product piping that ran from <br /> 948146.05-8 <br /> 6747 Sierra Court , Suite J Dublin , California 94568 { 925 ) 551 - 7555 <br />
