Hazelton Ave.
Stockton, CA 95205
Subject: Limited Environmental Investigation, Corral Hollow Shopping Center, 1975 W 111h Street,
Tracy,California
Terraphase Engineering Inc. (Terraphase) is pleased to submit this work plan to perform a Limited
Environmental Investigation ("the investigation")to evaluate the potential presence of petroleum
hydrocarbons as crude oil and poly-aromatic hydrocarbons in shallow soil at the Corral Hollow shopping
center in Tracy, California ("the Site").
Scope of Work
Based on information obtained from previous reports, petroleum contaminated soil was likely re-used at
the Site in front of the Orchard Supply Hardware (OSH).This investigation should document the residual
concentrations that are found in the shallow soil in this vicinity.A map of the proposed sample locations
are shown in Figure 1.
The proposed scope of work includes the following tasks:
- Task 1: Planning and Preparatory Activities
- Task 2: Soil Sampling Activities
The tasks are described in detail in the following sections.
Task 1 -Planning and Preparatory Activities
In accordance with federal and state law and regulations, a Site-specific health and safety plan (HASP)
will be prepared for the Site investigation activities. Site personnel, including on-Site subcontractors and
regulatory personnel, will be required to familiarize themselves with and sign the HASP in an attempt to
minimize safety hazards. The HASP will identify the specific chemical compounds that have been
encountered at the Site.
Prior to any subsurface work, sample locations will be located on the ground using white marking paint.
A private underground utility locator will be used to ensure that subsurface utilities will not be
intercepted during the soil boring activities. Magnetic and electro-location methods will be used, as
needed,to identify subsurface anomalies between ground surface and approximately 10 ft below
Terraphase Engineering Inc.
1404 Franklin Street,Suite 600
Oakland,California 94612
www.terraphase.com
