4P
►.a
4.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Groundwater flow direction has been consistently northerly at the site. The highest
hydrocarbon concentrations in the soils were found in the northwestern portion of the
` site. These concentrations attenuate with depth and are low to none-detectable below f
i 15 feet. The extent of petroleum hydrocarbons is currently not defined in soils or
. groundwater to the west of the site. The lateral extent of hydrocarbons in both soil and
R groundwater has been defined to the east of the site. The down o adient extent of '
hydrocarbons in groundwater has not been defined to the north.
r
To further deme the extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in the soils and groundwater in
the vicinity of the site, PACIFIC recommends the installation of two additional i
groundwater monitoring wells off-site in the locations indicated in Figure 7. The well i
located west of the site is proposed to establish crass-gradient hydrocarbon delineation.
—1 The well north Of the site will provide information an the downgradient extent of
t hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater.
s -
r
N R
S:
{
31001010'REPOR77 6
September-J. 1991
t -
