SP-SM
Note: The.table descriptions do not necessarily reflect site-specific,soil properties.
Twa shallow ercolatiori tests were conducted ow each parcel to evaluate the suitability of the
shallow soil. Plate'1 identifies the locations of the percolation tests. Each of the percolation test
f ' borings were`drilled utilizing a 4-inch diameter hand auger. The soils within.both 3 foot deep
borings were found to be a brown silty fine to medium sand. Generally, the soil properties from
the San Joaquin Soil Survey were similar to the soils encountered Within the shallow percolation
test borings.
Two inch PVC.pipe with an open end on the top and bottom was used for the percolation test.
Perforations were made on approximately the last 12 inches of the pipe. The percolation test
.hole was constructed by first placing approximately two (2) inches of"pea gravel"in the bottom_
` of the clean boring., The casing.was set within the open boring on top of the gravel base.. One
". . foot of"pea gravel"was'backfilled in'the annular space around the PVC casing. ,The percolation
test borings.were pre-soaked 24-hours prior to the test on January 7, 2003.
A four(4)hour test.was conducted for each percolation hole. Each test was conducted on
January 7, 2003 under EHD permit no. SR0032302.
