DIVISION 1. AIRPORT REQUIREMENTS <br /> F CHAPTER 1. INTRODUCTION <br /> The County of San Joaquin, Department of Aviation, has received a Planning Grant from the <br /> Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Transportation, United States Government, for <br /> the preparation of an Airport Master Plan and Environmental Analysis for the Stockton <br /> l fl Metropolitan Airport. The purpose of this pian is to provide forecasts and planning guidance for <br /> the development of this airport over the next 20-year period. <br /> There is significant land available on the airport that is not needed for aviation purposes and is <br /> proposed to be used for commercial/industrial use. The San Joaquin County Planning Department <br /> has taken the opportunity to include a General Plan Amendment concurrent with the Master Plan <br /> Studies and to expand the Master Plan Studies to provide the necessary data and documentation <br /> for this General Plan Amendment. The inclusion of the General'Plan Amendment required <br /> significant additions to the Traffic Studies and to the Surplus Land Planning Studies. <br /> This report summarizes the studies which have been conducted in the preparation of the Airport <br /> Master Plan and the County General Plan Amendment. Detailed traffic analyses and <br /> environmental reports have been prepared as separate documents.
