n
If airline passenger traffic increases as anticipated, then airline service will move to the
north side of the airport and the existing terminal and terminal apron will become
available for general aviation use, including expansion of corporate aircraft facilities.
There are currently five fixed based operators at the airport. For an airport of this size
five fixed base operators are adequate to serve the based and itinerant traffic.
E. Taxiways
A new taxiway will be required to serve the relocated parallel Runway 11 R-29L. This
taxiway will serve airline and business jet-type aircraft and should be 75 feet wide with
35-foot paved shoulders.
If the north side of the airport develops for air cargo and airline-type operations, a new
taxiway system on the north side of Runway 11 L-2 9R will be required. This taxiway
system will consist of a parallel taxiway, a series of cross taxiways, and a series of high-
speed bleed-off taxiways, all of which should be 75 feet wide with 35-foot shoulders.
l 'r These taxiways should be constructed as needed by the development of the air cargo and
l ' airline facilities.
F. CommerciaYIndustrial Development
I
t There are significant areas of land on the airport that are surplus to aviation needs. The
airport proposes to continue the commercial/industrial development that has begun on the
j south side of the airport adjacent to Airport Way and south of Dixon Street and to
develop that portion of land north of Runway I IL-29R that is not served for airline and
cargo development into commercial and industrial use.
k ^
1
5-3
1
