Airport Way Rm. 202
Stockton, Ca . 95206
From: Edward Martel - Fire Chief
Subject : Stockton Airport E. I .R Data on Fire Protection
And Emergency Response .
In regards to the concern by the Jones and Stokes Associates
on the Stockton Metro Airport E- I .R Data request for. Fire
Protection And Emergency Response I make the following
comments .
FIRE PROTECTION:
1 . ) The Montezuma Fire Protection District Has Two Fire
Stations . One which is located on Airport grounds and
the other at 2405 South " B" Street. . The Number of
working staff { 24 Hrs . daily } is four personnel. and 15
on call reserved Fire fighters . The Airport station
1 houses a 750 gallon Triple Combination Fire Apparatus
Pumper and two Osh-Kash Crash Rescue Rigs which are
fully equipped including the Hurst { jaws of life }
1 Power Unit .
i I feel there is ample fire protection for the current
status of the site and the limitation of construction of
phase one . Should additional Fire Protection Services be
necessary in the future it will be provided. Should the
} project build out, then added tax revenue would occur ,
which would allow the district to hire additional fire
personnel ( paid and reserve ) and would also acquire
new fire apparatus . Type of Apparatus and number of
personnel would be determine based on size of buildings
constructed and the area to be covered.
2 . ) The Montezuma Fire Protection District , through the uses
of the Office of Emergency Service of The State of
California ' s approved Mutual Aid Agreements , in
Montezuma Fire Protection District case it, is primarily
with the French Camp F.D. , Manteca-Lathrop F.D. , and The
Stockton Fire Department . The resource pool of man
power and equipment is virtually endless in case of a
large scale emergency response :
k
6 .
