February 15, 2006
NOA Project Number: E06006A
= 5.1 Soil Boring Locations
One soil boring was advanced on the Site; the boring was excavated to a depth of 3.28 feet. The soil
boring was used later for a percolation test;the location of the boring is indicated on Plate 1.:
5.2 Soil Boring Dimensions
The soil boring was 3.28 feet deep,as noted above, and was four inches in diameter.
5.3 Soil Lithology Observed
Generali the soil encountered in the borings is similar to the soils reported by the San Joaquin
- y . for the soil
the soil to
`County Sail Survey for the area {USDA,.1992). The table below presents g _
boring.
Soil Boring Lo
Unified Soil Classification
} Depth Interval(ft) Soil Type
0-3.5 Brown Eine sand_with some silt _ SP
5.4 Discussion of Soil Lithology
A visual inspection of the shallow soils from on-site drilling indicates good potential for satisfactory
- percolation. A percolation test is the best method to determine the suitability of the soils. Please
= see the next section for percolation test results'. Generally speaking, sandy soils have much greater
potential for percolation than fine-grained soils.
TEST INFORMATION
6.0 PERCOLATION
6.1 Percolation Test Locations
A site map indicating the location of the percolation test hole is included as Plate 1 of this report.
6.2 -Number of Percolation Tests
One shallow percolation test was conducted on the Site.
6.3 Boring Preparation and Presaturation
The soil boring on the parcel was advanced on the Site with a four inch diameter hand auger on
January 31,2006.
7
