Development
940 East Harney Lane .
Lodi, CA 95240
Subject: ADDENDUM TO SOILS SUITABILITY AND
NITRATE LOADING STUDY
ANDERSON STREET SUBDIVISION
CLEMENTS, CALIFORNIA
Reference: Kleinfelder, "Soils Suitability and Nitrate Loading Study,
Anderson Street Subdivision, Clements, California," File
No, 22276.G01, November 5, 2002
Dear Mr. Wright:
Kleinfelder is pleased to present the this addendum to the referenced soil suitability and nitrate
loading study for a proposed subdivision to be located east of the intersection of Anderson and
Almond Streets in Clements, California. This addendum presents the results of a retest of
percolation tests for parcel..2. We understand that because of the location of a leach field on an
adjacent property, the leach field for proposed parcel 2 would need to be moved to accommodate
the relocation of the residential well for this parcel. 4
The subsurface conditions at the site were explored for the retest on June 5, 2003, by drilling
three percolation borings to depths between approximately 3.1 and 8.2 feet below existing grade.
The borings were drilled using a Simco 2400 truck-mounted drill rig equipped with 6-inch O.D.
solid-stem auger. The location of the percolation test was approximately 190 feet east and 55
south of the northwest parcel corner. This location is approximately 60 feet east and 5 feet north
of the previously tested location in parcel 2. The approximate percolation test location is .
presented on the attached plate.
Based on our findings, the subsurface soils encountered consisted of interbedded layers of
weakly cemented to non-cemented brown sandy silts and silty sands to the depths explored.
The retests were performed on June 9, 2003, in accordance with accepted guidelines using clear
potable water. The procedure calls for first placing about 2 inches of fine gravel at the bottom of
the borehole. The hole is then pre-soaked with water at least 24 hours prior to performing the
22276.G02/ST03R844 June 9,2003
©2003 Kleinfelder,Inc.
