This investigation finds that the nutrient water produced at the Rocha Dairy can be applied to <br /> cropland under direct control of the Rocha Dairy, and provide nutrients, primarily nitrogen, in a <br /> timely manner to meet the nitrogen requirements of the crops grown for dairy cattle consumption, <br /> provided that all manure solids are exported off-site. In addition, it has been mathematically <br /> determined the Dairy could increase its milk cow population by 26% and remain between the <br /> balance of nitrogen produced by the dairy herd and nitrogen consume y e crops grown on-site. <br /> II. SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br /> A. SUBJECT SITE AND SURROUNDING STUDY AREA INFORMATION <br /> The Rocha Dairy has been in existence for more than 50 years. Mr. Don Moreda, Jr. (3245 Spring Hill <br /> Rd., Petaluma, CA 94952) is currently leasing the dairy from Mr. Rocha. The subject property and <br /> surrounding area are zoned AG-40 with the General Plan designation as agriculture. Surrounding <br /> acreage consists primarily of row crop production for cattle feed. Surrounding housing is very low <br /> density, single family houses and ranchettes. <br /> Five separate proposed parcels compose the subject property, three of which are owned by Danny <br /> Rocha. Two additional parcels that are contiguous to the Rocha Dairy, are owned by Mr. Rocha's <br /> nephew, Mr. Clyde Beffa. A t 5-year agreement between them exists to accept nutrient water from <br /> the dairy.
