• INTRODUCTION
Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Octavio Medina to
conduct a Nitrate Loading Study for their property located at 5850 East Ashley Lane,
Stockton, California. Mr. Medina has indicated that he plans to construct a new four-
bedroom home on the Site; the property is currently an orchard.
Because of concerns of nitrate leaching into ground water from septic systems, a nitrate
loading analysis was required by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department for approval of the proposed development. The study estimates the
potential concentration of percolating effluent produced by the proposed project over the
long term. Where percolating effluent leaches into the ground, ground-water quality
may be impacted to some degree should the effluent reach the aquifer.
The formatting of the report has been designed to follow the recommendations of the
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department as described in its Nitrate
Loading Study Requirements Checklist.
Site Description
The Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) for the Site is 085-110-76. The parcel is 1.65
acres in size, and is located at 5850 East Ashley Lane, Stockton, California (Plate 1).
• The Site is currently an orchard (Plate 2). A new well has been constructed but is not
yet connected to a power supply.
Mr. Medina indicated that a new four-bedroom home will be constructed on the Site; a
new septic system will be installed to serve the home.
• LOGE 1902 Page 1
