• A well permit dated October 2018 was identified for the Site from among the San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department files. The permit has been attached
to this report.
Water Sample
No water sample was collected from the Site.
Sources of Nitrate to Groundwater
Off-Site Sources of Nitrate
Many sources can contribute to ground water nitrate contamination, including
agricultural activities, dairies and cattle ranches, septic systems, and storm water
infiltration.
Septic systems and dairies have been found to be the most significant sources of nitrate
in ground water. Orchards that require fertilization in sandy soils are also a significant
source of nitrate contamination in shallow or sandy aquifers in San Joaquin County.
The general area consists of residential lots and orchards.
•
• LOGE 1902 Page 4
