12430 E.ATKINSON ROAD Project No.2017-00002 Page 14 '
with an increased septic tank size for the main residence. The seepage pits are primarily at a depth
of 25 feet, with the exception of one reportedly at a depth of 45 feet. ,
One 1600-gallon septic tank is installed for each address, 12420 and 12430 E. Atkinson Road, -36,
with one additional leach line and three 25-foot deep seepage pits installed at the 12430 E.Atkinson
Road address in June, 2011. ,
Copies of the septic search permits have been included in Appendix B of this report.
3.2 Expected Maximum Septic Tank Usage for Site
Septic tank usage for the site is not expected to increase from the current systems reported in Section
3.1,with the exception of a possible second-dwelling unit on 12401 E.Atkinson at some undermined
future date. '
3.3 General Area Septic Tank Usage,Permit, and Repair History
The EHD septic permit files were obtained from the San Joaquin Environmental Health Department '
(EHD) on January 5, 2017 in an effort to obtain copies of permits for any septic tanks located within
the general area of the subject property.
In order to estimate septic system density for the area,a recent aerial photo of the site was viewed i
on GoogleEarthTM.Building clusters within one mile were counted with the assumption of one septic
system per cluster.Using this method,it is estimated that there are approximately 130 septic systems '
per square mile in the general vicinity of the site.As previously indicated, the general area is mixed
residential and agriculture.
Based on the file review at EHD, the septic systems in the area appear to utilize leach lines and '
seepage pits. From our review, the septic repairs in the vicinity appear to consist of the addition of
leach lines and seepage pits. Some examples of these repair permits can be found in Appendix B.
4.0 GROUNDWATER INFORMATION
4.1 Groundwater Depth and Gradient
The San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (2014 and 2015) '
groundwater reports were reviewed to determine the groundwater levels near the Site. The Fall
2014 and Spring 2015 maps are the most current official maps available from the County. According
to these maps, (Plates 4 and 5) in Appendix A, groundwater elevation lies between 50 and 55 feet
below mean sea level. The elevation of the land, as previously mentioned in Section 1.1, ranges
between approximately 70 and 75 feet above mean sea level. Therefore, the depth to groundwater
(the difference between the elevation of the Site and the elevation of groundwater),ranges between '
approximately 120 and 130 feetbelowthe ground surface. The groundwater in the vicinity of the Site
appears to flow to the south toward a cone of depression.
No groundwater was encountered by the staff of Petralogix, Inc.during the drilling of the borings on
July 12, 2017.
Petoc.
2667 ugiclla Road,ring.
