Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Report Page II-8 <br /> Forward Inc.Landfill 2014 Expansion Project <br /> Requirements in Advisory Circular 150/5200-33B applicable to the proposed <br /> project include notification of the FAA and airport, and a demonstration that the <br /> landfill is designed and operated so it does not pose a bird hazard to aircraft. <br /> Forward notified the Stockton Metropolitan Airport and FAA by letter on 7 <br /> November 2014. (Fanning,2014a;Fanning, 2014b). The effectiveness of the gull <br /> control program at the existing landfill in avoiding bird hazards to aircraft is <br /> discussed under IV.A Surrounding and Nearby Land Uses, and the <br /> demonstration that the site will not pose a bird hazard to aircraft was placed in <br /> the operating record by letter on 7 November 2014. (Fanning, 2014c;Fanning, <br /> 2014d). Advisory Circular 150/5200-34A applies only to establishment of new <br /> landfills near airports, and does not apply to the proposed project. <br /> • The project sponsor will abide by any additional reasonable and feasible <br /> measures designated by the Stockton Metropolitan Airport or the FAA to <br /> mitigate bird population impacts that could be caused by the proposed project. <br /> A.5. Forward notified the Stockton Metropolitan Airport <br /> and FAA by letter on 7 November 2014. <br /> • As required by California Code of Regulation Title 27,Section 20270(c), <br /> Airport Safety, the owner or operator must place the demonstration in the <br /> operating record that the site will not cause a bird hazard to aircraft, and <br /> notify the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery(CalRecycle)that <br /> it has been placed in the operating record. Forward notified CalRecycle that <br /> the demonstration was placed in the operating record by letter on 7 <br /> November 2014. <br />
