EXPLANATION OF CHECKLIST ITEMS
{ 1. AESTHETICS
a. No lmpact: The project would not affect scenic vistas as no such vistas are present in the
project site vicinity.
b. Less Than Significant With Mitigation Incorporation: As stated in the FIR, Impact B.2,
realignment of the North Branch of the South Fork of Little Johns Creek'w,ould impai-r the view.
FBecause the creek segment to be filled i5 not currently publicly visible,'the impact would not be
significant. However, as stated in the FIR, Impact B.6, the proposed project would entail the
removal of mature oak trees from the site. This could result in a significant adverse aesthetic
impact. After Mitigation Measures F.2.(a), (b), (c),and (d) of the Mitigation
Monitoring/Reporti.ng Program, this impact would not be significant.
c. Potentially Significant lmpact: As stated in the FIR, Impact B.1, the height and mass of the
landfill would disrupt the physical pattern and scale of the surrirunding agricultural
coninlunity. This would remain a significant impact after Mitigation Measures B.1.(a), (b), (c),
and (d) of the Mitigation Monitoring/Reporting Program.
t' F As stated in the FIR, lmpact B.4, the proposed project v,!ould extend landfill operations and
therefore extend the potential for litter and debris along access .roads and at the site. This
impact, after Mitigation Measures B.-l.(a), (b), (c), and (d) of the iMitigatiun ,
Monitoring/Reporting Prograni, would not be significant.
As stated in the EIR, Impact B.5, the proposed project cou.Id create excessive dust-and haze in
t the project vicinity. This impact, after Mitigation Measures B.S.(a), (b), (c), (d),'(e), (f) and (g) of
the Mitigation Monitorin /Re cortin g Prugram, 4vould not be significant.
As stated in the FIR, Impact B.7, the proposed project would contribute cumulatively to the
disruption of the physical arrangement in the surrounding conurrunity. This effect would be j
partially mitigated by Mitigation Measure B.7.(a) of the Mitigation ilv9onitorirrg/Reporting
Program,but would remain significant.
i
d. Less Than Significant With Mitigation hlcorporatiorn: As stated in the FIR, Impact B.3, the
project would generate additional sources'o.flight and Aare. This impact, after Mitigation
Measures 13.3.(a), (b), (c) and (d) of the Mitigation Monitoring/Reporting Program, would not
be significant.
k
Il. AGRICULTURE RESOURCES r
C Potentially Significant Impact: The project v,'ould convert approximately 219 acres of prime
F agricultural land to industrial use. This impact will be addressed in the SEIR.
b. No Impact: The proposed project would not conflict with existing zoning for agricultural use
f or a Williamson Act contract.
c. Less Than Significant lmpact: As stated in the FIR, Impact A.7, the project would limit the
Frange of land use for future development ill the vicinity of the .site, and could encourage future
landfill development. This impact would be less than significant.
