Landfill 2018 Expansion Project <br /> • Permanent fencing(ten-foot high with an additional three-foot kicker)may <br /> be constructed with possibility of placement on an eight-foot high berm. <br /> • On very windy days when all other procedures are not successful in <br /> controlling blowing litter, the operator may apply cover material more <br /> frequently or immediately to the incoming waste load. As a last resort due <br /> to the facility's obligation to provide continued disposal service to its <br /> clientele, the operator may consider closing down the facility to incoming <br /> waste. <br /> • Buffer zones resulting from required facility setbacks along the site's <br /> perimeter will provide some protection of adjacent properties. <br /> • As a final control measure, personnel will be dispatched, as needed or daily <br /> if conditions require, to collect any litter that has escaped the above control <br /> measures. The personnel will collect litter from the facility and the facility <br /> access, as well as adjoining property,provided that the property owner <br /> allows access. If additional assistance is required beyond site personnel, <br /> temporary service agencies will be contacted. <br /> • If litter is distributed by the wind into trees and bushes on facility property <br /> or adjoining properties, portable lifts may be employed to retrieve the litter. <br /> • Portable litter vacuums may be used to collect litter that has accumulated on <br /> litter fences. <br /> • The main highway leading to the site will be routinely inspected for litter.If <br /> the highway has litter associated with the trucks entering the facility,then <br /> the litter will be picked up on a routine basis.All necessary safety <br /> precautions will be followed. <br /> • Before and after photos of any litter removal effort may be taken in the event <br />
